Carnival FAQ
Is Carnival acid free?
Yes.
Are Carnival Whites and Colors of archival quality?
Yes.
Carnival is:
- Process Chlorine Free (PCF)
- Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF)
Is Carnival lignin free?
Yes.
Do any of the Carnival papers have a watermark?
No.
Which way do Carnival embossed patterns run?
All patterns run with the grain. In the laid finish, the chain lines go with
the grain and the laid lines go against the grain.
Does SMART Papers laminate/duplex?
Yes, duplex and laminated double-thick items are now stocked in Carnival. However,
if you have a special color, finish, basis weight or caliper requirement, please
contact your field or inside sales representative for minimums and pricing.
Carnival carries the following laser and inkjet guarantee:
Laser
All
24lb Carnival writing; 70lb and 80lb text items available in
smooth, vellum, linen, laid, felt and groove will
perform to your expectations in photocopiers and laser printers.
Some
laser equipment will run cover weights—manual-feed
is required in most cases (generally over an 8pt caliper). Refer
to your original equipment manufacturer’s guidelines for
best results.
Other Carnival papers may also work in your
particular equipment. However,
such use, or use outside your particular equipment manufacturer’s
recommendations, renders this guarantee null and void. We
always recommend testing prior to use due to rapidly changing technology.
Inkjet
All Carnival writings and text items available
in smooth, vellum, linen, laid, felt, groove and vertical will
perform to your expectations in desktop inkjet printers.
Some inkjet
equipment will run cover weights. Refer to your
original equipment manufacturer’s guidelines for best results.
Other
Carnival papers may also work in your particular equipment. However,
such use, or use outside your particular equipment manufacturer’s
recommendations, renders this guarantee null and void. We
always recommend testing prior to use due to rapidly changing technology.
Of course, all Carnival papers are guaranteed to perform
on small and large offset presses.
