Do we guarantee our Digital papers’ performance?
Yes. SMART Papers guarantees that our digital papers will
perform to your satisfaction in laser, inkjet and multifunction printers
when used in accordance with the recommended guidelines set forth
by your equipment manufacturer.
Are the SMART Digital Papers acid free?
Yes. Kromekote, Knightkote, Benefit and Carnival are acid free.
Are Digital Papers of archival quality?
Yes. Kromekote, Knightkote, Benefit and Carnival are of archival quality.
What are script settings for Xeikon products?
Every order of our stocked Xeikon papers is packaged with the appropriate script
or press setting information. The Xeikon web
page, www.xeikon.com, also contains scripts
for all of our papers. All scripts have been approved by the Rochester Institute
of Technology (R.I.T.). If you have specific questions around scripting or press
settings, please contact field sales or technical assistance.
Which SMART Papers are guaranteed for Laser and Inkjet
printing?
SMART Papers guarantees that our digital papers
will perform to your satisfaction in laser, inkjet and multifunction
printers when used in accordance with the recommended guidelines
set forth by your equipment manufacturer.

Carnival papers carry the following laser and
inkjet imaging guarantee: We guarantee that all items available in 24#
writing and 70# text weights (smooth, vellum and linen) will perform to
your expectations in photocopiers, laser and inkjet printers. |

Other Carnival papers may also work in your particular equipment.
However, such us, or use outside of your particular equipment manufacturer’s
recommendations, renders this guarantee null and void. We always recommend
testing prior to use because of rapidly changing technology. |

Laser
All 24lb Benefit writing; 70lb and 80lb text items available in
smooth and original vellum will perform to your expectations in photocopiers
and laser printers.
Some laser equipment will run cover weights—manual-feed is required in
most cases (generally over an 8pt caliper). Refer to your original equipment
manufacturer’s guidelines for best results.
Other Benefit papers may also work in your particular equipment. However,
such use, or use outside your particular equipment manufacturer’s recommendations,
renders this guarantee null and void. We always recommend testing prior
to use due to rapidly changing technology. |

Inkjet
All Benefit writings and text items available in smooth, original vellum and
vertical will perform to your expectations in desktop inkjet printers.
Some inkjet equipment will run cover weights. Refer to your original equipment
manufacturer’s guidelines for best results.
Other Benefit papers may also work in your particular equipment. However,
such use, or use outside your particular equipment manufacturer’s recommendations,
renders this guarantee null and void. We always recommend testing prior
to use due to rapidly changing technology.
Of course, all Benefit papers are guaranteed to perform on small and large offset
presses. |

Laser High Gloss |

Kromekoteplus is suitable for desktop and production
laser printers. |

Kromekote Laser High Gloss is specifically designed for
exceptional performance in desktop and production laser printers. Kromekote
Laser High
Gloss is the best choice when toner coverage is heavy and adhesion is critical. |

Kromekoteplus and Kromekote Laser High Gloss can
be offset preprinted. Proper care needs to be taken when preprinting to
make sure the surface of the unprinted area does not change. If the surface
materially changes, our imaging guarantee cannot be applied. |

| Kromekote Inkjet |

Kromekote Inkjet products are specially engineered for
desktop inkjet printing. Please consult your equipment guidelines and adjust
your device settings (typically “other glossy paper”) to ensure
optimum performance. |

Due to the unique coating of Kromekote Inkjet we do not
recommend pre-printing. |
What makes SMART Papers HP Indigo Paper unique?
SMART Papers manufactures both a sapphire treated product and a non-sapphire
treated product for HP Indigo press owners. Both products carry an HP Indigo
guarantee from SMART Papers. Both products allow for maximum toner adhesion.
Are the Sapphire treated products treated on both sides?
Yes – both sides are coated with the sapphire coating to ensure toner adhesion.
What is the shelf life for Sapphire treated papers?
For guaranteed toner adhesion, Sapphire treated products must be sold and printed
within
the following timeframes:

Consult the “Guaranteed Through” sticker on the carton
for the expiration date.
Due to the unique nature of the Sapphire treated products, and due to the
stated shelf life, SMART Papers for Sapphire treated products cannot be
returned.

Can Sapphire treated products be printed via offset
lithography?
No – the fountain solution can be contaminated by the sapphire coating.
Are the non-sapphire (IN•fusion) products capable
of being printed on both sides?
Yes – the IN•fusion product line has been optimized to allow maximum toner
adhesion on both sides of the sheet.
Is there a shelf life for the IN•fusion product line?
No.
Can IN•fusion products be printed
via offset, laser or direct imaged?
Yes – the IN•fusion product line has been developed to be multipurpose so that printers
can offset, laser or direct image and the HP Indigo print the sheet.
What are the special care instructions for HP Indigo Papers?
All HP Indigo products should be stored at 70 degrees F, and 40-45%
humidity. For optimum performance, we recommend a product
acclimation of 48 hours prior
to printing.
