Are SMART Papers acid free?
Kromekote, Kromekote Litho, Knightkote, Benefit, and Carnival are all acid free.

Are papers with finishes of archival quality?
Kromekote, Kromekote Litho, Knightkote, Benefit, and Carnival all comply with ANSI standard Z39.48 and are of archival quality.

Are SMART Papers chlorine free?
The virgin fibers we use are elemental chlorine free, but secondary fibers may not be. The process we use to manufacture finishes is elemental chlorine free.

Are any SMART Papers products FDA approved?
No. None of our products are FDA approved for direct or indirect contact.

Are SMART Papers lignin free?
Our sheets contain no groundwood. However, trace amounts of lignin may be present due to the secondary fibers (post-consumer content fibers) used in manufacturing our recycled content grades.

Which way do embossed patterns run?
All patterns run with the grain except silk and hi-fi which are perpendicular to (against) the grain. In the laid and waylaid finishes, the chain lines (thicker lines) go with the grain and the laid lines (thinner lines) go against the grain.

Does SMART Papers laminate/duplex?
We can laminate/duplex most of our products. Please contact your field or inside sales representative for minimums and pricing.
