The SMART Senior Management Team

Our seasoned leadership team has an average of 25-plus years’ worth of experience in the paper industry.

Tim Needham, Chairman, has a proven background in brand marketing, sales and manufacturing.

Dan Maheu, President and Chief Operating Officer, has focused on technical and specialty premium paper manufacturing as well as mill and business operations.

Jeffrey S. Sink, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, oversees all accounting, financial and information technology functions.

Joe Bergeron, Senior Vice President, is responsible for all areas of mill operation – from stock preparation through sheet and roll packing. He also manages utilities, maintenance, quality, safety and environmental compliance.

Paul Simpson, Executive Vice President – Sales and Marketing, handles international sales.

Marty Forsythe, Director - Sheeting, Distribution, Customer Service and Quality, watches over all production planning, distribution, and logistics functions.

Susan Carpenter, Director of Human Resources, manages all of our human capital functions.

Chuck DeWitt, Product and Sustainability Manager, has a broad track record in paper manufacturing, product management and business development.

Tom Kleimeyer, Director of Marketing, is responsible for the marketing of all SMART brands.
